Things to Do:
We highly recommend grabbing a copy of the island weekly newspaper, The Wind, available at the ferry terminal, outside the post office, and at many other establishments. It's the best resource for learning about current and upcoming activities and vendors, from yoga classes to music festivals to chartered boat tours to lobster dinner fundraisers.
Flea Market: Saturday mornings from Memorial Day to Labor Day in Union Church parking lot
Hiking and Beaches: Vinalhaven Land Trust is an incredible resource for hiking trails and beaches and offers a free hiking app for trails and information on island hikes.
Kayaking or Paddleboarding: Rent kayaks or paddle boards from the TideWater Motel. They'll drop you and your boats off at a location of your choice.
Swimming: Lawson's or Booth's public swimming quarries.
Roberts Harbor Farm: https://www.rhfarmvh.com/ 144 Roberts Cemetary Road - an organic farm with vegetables, flowers, a farm stand, pigs and chickens to visit, and gorgeous views of Roberts Harbor.
